Communication tool for the „In Control“ handbook

“In Control” imparts knowledge on health emergencies: From staying healthy, protecting oneself from cyber-attacks to dealing with language barriers. Introduced by the president of Germany’s National Public Health Institute (RKI), Prof. Dr. Wieler, 58 distinguished experts from 21 institutions share their knowledge: National Public Health Institutes, hospitals, international organisations, such as the WHO, universities, NGOs, the Federal Foreign Office and the German Red Cross.

„In Control“ vermittelt Wissen rund um das Thema gesundheitliche Notfälle: Von der Vorsorge, dem Schutz vor Cyber-Attacken bis hin zum Umgang mit Sprachbarrieren. Unter der Schirmherrschaft des Präsidenten des RKI, Prof. Dr. Wieler, teilen 58 renommierte Expert*Innen aus 21 Institutionen ihr Wissen: Nationale Gesundheitsinstitute, Krankenhäuser, internationale Organisationen, wie die WHO, Universitäten, NGOs, das Auswärtige Amt und das Deutsche Rote Kreuz.

We have developed a tool that helps people to communicate all over the world without knowing the language of the country. This tool was integrated into the “InControl” handbook. The symbols relate to the topic of health: from first aid, common symptoms of illness and medical specialisations to Corona, Ebola or Malaria: users can simply point at the symbol and make themselves understood immediately.

Wir haben ein Communication Tool entwickelt, das den Menschen hilft sich weltweit zu verständigen, ohne die jeweilige Ländersprache zu kennen. Dieses Tool wurde in das „InControl“-Handbuch integriert. Die Symbole wurden auf das Thema Gesundheit angepasst: Von der Ersten Hilfe, häufigen Krankheitssymptomen, medizinischen Spezialisierungen bis hin zu Corona, Ebola oder Malaria: Ein Fingerzeig genügt, um sich sofort verständlich zu machen.
